Overview
Beddgelert is widely regarded as the most picturesque village in Snowdonia. Sitting at the confluence of the rivers Glaslyn and Colwyn, surrounded by mountains and famous for the legend of Prince Llywelyn's faithful hound Gelert, it has an atmosphere unlike any other Snowdon base. The Welsh Highland Railway passes through the village, linking it to Caernarfon and Porthmadog. The Watkin Path begins approximately 4 km to the north via Nant Gwynant.
